Mineral Processing Equipment Glossary

Industry terminology and equipment specifications explained โ€” your reference guide for better equipment selection.

Primary crushing equipment using compressive force between a fixed jaw and a swing jaw. Suitable for hard rock and large feed sizes. Models range from PE-150x250 to PE-1200x1500 with capacities from 1-1000 t/h.

Secondary and tertiary crushing equipment using a gyrating cone inside a concave bowl. Standard, medium, and short head configurations available. Ideal for medium-hard to hard materials.

Crushing equipment using high-speed impact force from blow bars. Produces cubical product shape. Suitable for medium-hard materials and recycling applications.

Equipment that uses vibration to feed material continuously and uniformly into crushers. Adjustable feed rate, pre-screening function. Essential for stable crusher operation.

Classification equipment using vibration to separate materials by size. Circular and linear motion types available. Multi-deck configurations for precise classification.

Grinding equipment using steel balls in a rotating cylinder. Wet and dry grinding modes. Essential for fine grinding in mineral processing plants.

Material handling equipment using a continuous belt for transport. Long-distance, high-capacity transfer between processing stages. TD75 and DTII series available.

The processing capacity of crushing or screening equipment, typically measured in tons per hour (t/h). Varies with material hardness, moisture, feed size, and crusher settings.

The maximum size of material that can enter the crusher. For jaw crushers, measured as width x length (e.g., 600x900mm). Determines the maximum feed size the equipment can accept.

The adjustable gap at the crusher discharge, controlling the maximum product size. Also called CSS (Closed Side Setting) for cone crushers or discharge opening for jaw crushers.

The rated power of the electric motor driving the equipment, measured in kW or HP. Determines the processing capacity and maximum feed size the equipment can handle.

A crushing arrangement where oversize material is returned to the crusher for re-crushing via a vibrating screen and conveyor. Produces more uniform product size than open circuit.

The sieve size through which 80% of the crushed product passes. A key parameter for crusher selection and circuit design. Smaller P80 indicates finer product.

Incoterm where the seller delivers goods on board the vessel at the port of shipment; buyer bears freight and risk thereafter. FOB Shanghai/Qingdao is our default quotation term.
